Your purpose

You will be working at Owens Corning Paroc project department in Hällekis, Sweden as a Design Engineer. You will perform mechanical design work in capital investment projects and according to needs of the maintenance department and ensure the produced documents for design fulfill the requirements concerning safety, inquiries, manufacturing, maintenance, and use.

OC Paroc project department is a part of Owens Corning EU Capital Delivery organization and is responsible for executing capital investment projects at OC Paroc Swedish production plants located in Hällekis and Hässleholm.

You will be working in close cooperation with project managers, designers, process area owners, production, and maintenance. Improving and developing the production equipment and the way of work are important topics in your daily work.

Your success will be mainly measured through success of delivering: design work in agreed time and in a cost-conscious way, design work that fulfills safety requirements and agreed scope and quality.

Your main tasks and responsibilities as Design Engineer

❯ Perform mechanical design work ordered internally by the plant maintenance or investment projects

❯ Making sure your design work fulfills requirements of machine safety and be responsible for related risk assessments

❯ Organizing and prioritizing you own work, using MS-Project for making time schedules

❯ Agree scope and concept for your design work in close cooperation with plant personnel, project managers and other stake holders

❯ Coordinate external design work during possible periods of high workload

❯ Support sourcing in technical matters

❯ Contact persons to manufacturing workshop in technical matters, take part in FAT tests

❯ Responsible for documentation of your design work (maintenance manuals, operation manuals, spare parts)

Your profile

To succeed in this role, we would expect you to meet:

❯ Min. Bachelor’s degree in field of mechanical engineering or other relevant technical field of study.

❯ Min. 3 years of experience in designing mechanical equipment preferably for process industry.

❯ Skills in using Solid Works or another corresponding 3D design tool.

❯ Skills in using AutoCAD 2D.

❯ Good networking, cooperation, and interaction skills

❯ Good communication skills in Swedish and English

❯ Knowledge of safety and machinery standards and norms

❯ Development minded, energetic and curious personality eager to develop and learn

❯ Systematic and performance driven, target oriented and self-guided

❯ Courage to challenge the current situation, innovative

The position is located in Hällekis, with the possibility to partial remote work

In this role you will report to Martin Sjögren, Capital delivery leader, Sweden and in matrix to Kim Lundström, Department manager, Plant design
